Sting to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame

The WWE announced that the first inductee in the 2016 Hall of Fame will be WCW icon, Sting. He will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 2 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, the night before WrestleMania 32. No word yet on who will be inducting Sting.

Sting made his long awaited WWE debut in 2014 at the Survivor Series event, setting up his debut match at WrestleMania 31 versus Triple H.

“We are truly honored to have Sting take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame,” said WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative, Paul Levesque. “His contributions to our industry are unprecedented, and we look forward to celebrating his incredible career with fans all over the world.”

Sting took to Twitter to comment on his forthcoming WWE Hall of Fame induction:

Well it’s official – I have accepted the invitation to be inducted into the WWE HOF! HONORED!!!!

You will be able to watch Sting’s induction live on the WWE Network on Saturday, April 2, 6:30 p.m. local time.
